This morning, Lucid Motors issued an official press release announcing an exciting development: the Lucid Gravity, the company’s highly anticipated electric SUV, will have the capability to access the extensive and unmatched Tesla charging network. This integration allows Lucid Gravity owners to benefit from over 20,000 charging stations across North America, significantly enhancing the convenience and accessibility of long-distance travel for electric vehicle drivers.

Starting January 31st, the Tesla Charging network will be available to Lucid Gravity owners, celebrated for its extensive reach and top-notch reliability. This network currently features over 20,000 charging stations strategically located throughout North America, including the United States, Canada, and Mexico. With this expansion, Lucid Gravity drivers will benefit from Tesla’s robust infrastructure, enabling convenient and efficient charging for their electric vehicles across the continent.

Emad Dlala – VP of Powertrain at Lucid reported this morning

“Lucid Gravity offers next-level fast charging speeds and seamless access to the top charging networks including Tesla Superchargers and Electrify America,” said Emad Dlala, VP of Powertrain at Lucid. “To enable this experience for our customers, we developed new, unique technology to allow the 926V Lucid Gravity to charge seamlessly at up to 400 kW on 1000V charging equipment and at sustained speeds of up to 225 kW on 500V architecture fast chargers, including Tesla V3 Superchargers.”

Emad and Peter indicated that the Lucid Gravity can charge an impressive 200 miles in just 12 minutes using the current infrastructure, making it the fastest-charging SUV on the market.

The biggest question is whether this will enable more rapid growth for the Lucid Gravity. We have observed a slow rollout from Q4 until now, which may have been due to a wait for access to Tesla charging stations. Since the Lucid Gravity is NACS native, it was previously unable to charge at CCS stations. With the new capability to charge at Tesla chargers, do you think we will see a backlog of orders being delivered soon?
